Thomas G. Crissman

Thomas G. Crissman, 83, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on November 1, 2023 in Pittsburg, Kansas. Thomas, known as Tom to his loved ones, was born on April 29, 1940, in Liberal, Kansas to Ralph and Ruth (Goddard) Crissman. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. In his early career, while attending Wichita State University, Tom worked at the first Pizza Hut in Wichita, Kansas, when it opened in 1958. He later managed a Pizza Hut in Manassas, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. His career then transitioned to the financial services sector, leading him to various cities before becoming the vice president of Coffeyville State Bank in Coffeyville, Kansas. Tom later found his passion in the welding supply industry, retiring from Lampton Welding Supply in Wichita after many years of dedicated service. Tom was a man of many interests and hobbies. He took great pride in his home's appearance, enjoyed gardening, and was often seen sitting on his porch swing, engaging with his neighbors. He was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, and cherished spending time with his Boston Terrier companion, Starry. He is survived by his ex-wife, Diane Kelly; children Lizbeth Fields, Gary Crissman Sr., and Katherine (Daniel) Ferguson; grandchildren Daniel Morgan, Nicole Morgan, Gary (Kelsey) Crissman Jr., Shawna Crissman, Jonas (Kayla) Ferguson, Faith Ferguson, and Shelby Ferguson; great-grandchildren Keith and Luke Morgan, Oscar and Sullivan Ledbetter, Chasnee, Karsyn, Chase, and Kendyl Crissman, Grayce and Asher Chamberlain, Anson Crissman, Giana Swan, Liza Ferguson, and great-great-grandson, Grayston Salas-Perez. He is also survived by wonderful friends Suzanne "Sam" McCoin, Bret Crowther, and Suzanne McDiffett who provided companionship, friendship, and care. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronald Crissman and sister, Patricia Glass. Tom's life will be celebrated privately, as no services are planned. The Midland Cremation Society in Joplin, Missouri, assisted the family with the arrangements. Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
