Susan M. Mitchell

Susan Marie Mitchell, 62, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on April 17, 2026, surrounded by the people who loved her most. Susan was born on May 20, 1963, to the late Mary Alice Logan and Edward Emery Mitchell. She was later adopted by Charles and Jeanie Mitchell of Butterfield, Missouri. Susan attended school in Cassville, Missouri, where she was competitive in sports and especially loved playing softball. Susan was a woman of incredible strength, courage, and heart. She was never one to back down from a fight, especially when it came to protecting the people she loved or standing up for what she believed in. Susan spoke her mind, stood her ground, and faced life's challenges head-on without fear. She was fiercely loyal, strong-willed, and determined, with a spirit that could not be broken. If someone she cared about needed her, Susan was there without hesitation. She fought for her family, defended her friends, and made sure the people she loved always knew they had someone in their corner. She loved the outdoors and found happiness in the simple things in life. Some of her favorite moments were spent fishing Indian Creek, being outside, and learning more about her Indian culture. Nature brought her peace, but her greatest joy came from the people she loved. Susan had a heart bigger than most. She was known as a defender, someone who would always step in to protect her family and friends. She loved deeply, fiercely, and unconditionally. Her strength carried others through difficult times, and her love made people feel safe. She is survived by her daughters, Mandy Mitchell and significant other Travis Jarnagin of Joplin, Missouri; Sami Lang of Seneca, Missouri; Rebecca Mitchell and husband Raymond Torres of Anderson, Missouri; Brandy Hagebusch and significant other Robby Ryan of Anderson, Missouri. She is also survived by their sister, Nicole Douglass and husband Brad Douglass of Berryville, Arkansas, and Brandon Lang of Anderson, Missouri, whom she loved as a son. Susan leaves behind eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six siblings: Anita Mitchell of Seneca, Missouri; Joe Mitchell of Eagle Rock, Missouri; Angela Massey of Brent, Oklahoma; Amy Rider of Van, Oklahoma; Abby Babber of Marble City, Oklahoma; and Jay Mitchell of Purdy, Missouri. Susan also leaves behind her beloved pet pig, Mr. Piggy, who brought her so much joy and companionship over the years. She was preceded in death by both sets of parents; her older sister, Becky Bonebarkes; and her three brothers, John-John Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, and Anthony Mitchell. Susan leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply every day. She was truly one of a kind — strong, fearless, loving, and impossible to forget. Though her passing leaves an emptiness that can never be filled, her love, strength, and fierce spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Sue will be forever missed, forever remembered, and forever loved. Celebration of Life will be on Sunday April 26, 2026 at 3:30PM at the Pineville Community Center located at 602 Jesse Jame Rd, Pineville MO 64856
