Deborah Maeann Guss

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Maeann Guss-Leslie, who departed this life on Saturday, June 20th at the age of 49. Deborah was born on February 28th in Carson, CA and lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, and dedication to those she loved. She touched the lives of many through her warmth, generosity, and unwavering support of family and friends. Throughout her life, Deborah was known for her humor, creativity and great advice. She took great pride in her work as caregiver and found joy in spending time with her family, friends and crafting. Her presence brought comfort and encouragement to all who knew her. Deborah is survived by her wife, Barb Leslie, Children: Kate Knoll, Tracy Riley (Kat), James Leslie and Elizabeth Johnson (Brandon George) Father: Ed Guss, Siblings: Heather Guss-Hunt (Mel Hunt), Eddie Guss (Heather Guss) and Adam Guss, Nephews: Page Guss, Walker Guss-Hunt, Baylor Kemp and Blake Marshall, Great Nephew: Eric Watkins, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beth Guss and Aunt, Deborah Guss. Deborah will be remembered most for the love she shared with her family, her devotion to her beloved pups, and the joy she found in the simple beauty of sunflowers. Her warmth, kindness, and caring spirit brightened the lives of those around her. Whether spending time with loved ones, caring for her dogs, or admiring a field of sunflowers in bloom, Deborah embraced life's blessings with gratitude and love. Deborah was also known for one trait that never seemed to change: she was famously late to just about everything. Family and friends often joked that if Deborah said she would arrive at a certain time, they knew how to give her a little extra grace. It was a quirk that became part of her charm and one that now brings smiles along with cherished memories. No matter when she arrived, she always showed up with love, laughter, and a heart full of care for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, loyalty, humor, and unwavering dedication to family. Those who knew her will remember her gentle heart, her loving nature, and the happiness she found in the people and animals she cherished most. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 11th at the Community Center in Redfield, KS from 12-2pm. Cremation arrangements are made with Midland Cremation Society in Joplin, Missouri.
