Eugene (Gene) Anthony Schultz of Neosho, MO, age 79, passed away peacefully at the National Healthcare Association in Joplin, MO on Sunday March 20, 2022. Gene was born on December 21, 1942 in Kansas City, KS to Loretta Mae Schultz (Fenske) and Carrol Eugene Schultz. He was a 1960 graduate of Pierce City High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he spent the majority of his tour of duty in Alaska until his honorable discharge in 1966. Gene's hobbies included fishing and nature photography. Many memories were made at the lake with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents (Loretta and William T. Carlin), Carrol Schultz, his son (Steve Schultz), his brother (Richard Schultz), and his sister (Rose Gripka). He is survived by his Brother-in-law (Charles Gripka), sister (Bernadette Carlin), three nieces (Denise Gripka, Deanna (Nathan) Herron, and Lori (Michael) Antweiler), four great nephews, five great nieces, two great-great nieces, and one great-great nephew. There will be a private family gathering to celebrate Gene's life.
