Caren Jean Dalton

Caren Dalton, 63, passed away on July 20, 2024, in Joplin, MO. Caren is survived by William Sharpe (Bill)- Significant other, of Kansas City, Douglas McQuitty - father (Significant other: Linda Jennings-Hoffset) ,of McClouth KS, Hugh McQuitty-brother (Spouse: Laura McQuitty and Daughter Brenna) of Kansas City, Amy Jarrett-daughter (Spouse Benji Jarrett) of Columbus, Christie Foglesong Rodriguez-daughter (Spouse Enrique Rodriguez), of Kansas City. Most importantly, she is survived by 11 grandchildren. Her grandchildren and their accomplishments is what brought her the most joy and made her undeniably proud. Caren is preceded in death by Carol Jackson - Mother, and (Dad) Andy Anderson, Dennis McQuitty - brother, Dwayne McQuitty - brother. Sure, I could say how sweet, caring, and nurturing she was but it just wouldn't be an accurate description, as much as you would like to hear it. It would be doing her a great injustice because she was so much more. Who was Caren? That's what everyone wants to know! She was the rebellious daughter that made her own way and succeeded; because let's be real, who retires in their 40's? She was the sister that stood just as tall as her brothers and "held her own". She was the wife that tolerated NOTHING because she knew her worth and her capabilities. She was the mother AND father, of two girls. Maybe she wasn't good with hugs and kisses. Maybe she wasn't the best at "quality time". What she did teach, was showing them how to change a tire and their oil. "Just make sure you clean your nails". She reminded those (that even without her) they were strong."You didn"t need me, I needed you". She demonstrated and proved that nothing will or can stop them. "Be still and know. If I don't have you, he does. JUST BREATHE"! Who was Caren? She was the elegance and grace they wanted her to be, just not the picture that was colored within the lines. She was a daughter filled with frustration, confusion, and love. She was a sister built with chaos and muscle. An aunt filled with laughter. A mother AND father with an unimaginable amount of fear. A grandmother with so much hope. A friend that would never turn her back. She was rough around the edges, serious, a shoulder to cry on but would quickly let you know when you needed to pull it together. She was beautiful, loyal and compassionate. She was determined, productive, and organized. She was a women of great integrity and strength. Who was Caren? Simple really, (for any man or woman) she was you. She is us! A person that wanted to help even if she needed help. A person that wanted to give love and be loved in return. A person who sought out for protection and found it in God! She is someone who will always be with and guide us. That is Caren! Thank you all for your tremendous amount of love and support during such a difficult time. Please always remember; YOU ARE ENOUGH! Caren's burial will take place on August 1st, 2024, at 1:30pm. Location: 150 Muncie Rd Leavenworth KS, 66048. Immediately to follow, there will be a celebration of life.
