Obituaries
Bob Gene Shelton, 86 of Carl Junction, MO passed away Wednesday,
March 14, 2012 at Mt. Vernon Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, MO. He
was born January 25, 1926 in Tulsa, OK, the son of John Monroe and
Minneola (Phips) Shelton. Bob served in the Navy during WWII. On April
13, 1953 he married Rita F. (Greer) Shelton. She survives. Bob worked
for GRDA as lake patrol assistant chief. He was a member of the VFW
and Fraternal order of Police. He is survived by 3 sons, James Shelton
and Wife Wendy of Carl Junction, Mark Shelton and wife Lashaun of
California, MD, and Bobby Shelton of Southwest City, MO. 4 grandsons
and 7 granddaughters. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are
under the direction of Midland Cremation Society, Joplin, MO.
