- transfer to crematory
- completing and filing death certificate with the state
- obtaining certified copies of death certificates for the family
- completing and filing required authorizations for cremation
- sending obituary information to newspapers
- completing and filing forms for Veterans' death benefits, VA marker and flag
- completing and filing forms for Social Security death benefits
